DIY Home Made Protein Bars – plus what to avoid!

Finding a decent protein bar is not easy. Avoid these ingredients: Sugar alcohols, xylitol, erythritol, sorbitol, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, aspartame, acesulfame k, soy protein, palm oil, hydrogenated vegetable fats / oils, inulin, and brown rice syrup.

The best way to go is to make your own protein bars. You'll end up with protein bars that are far healthier, and a lot cheaper in the long run. To DIY select from, and mix combinations of the following ingredients. For easier mixing, use the microwave, or simmer in a pot on the stove if you need to.

Use these ingredients:

Nut Butter:

Peanut, Almond, or Cashew
Protein Powder:
Reactiv Pure NZ Whey, Pure NZ Micellar, Pure NZ Casein, or Pure Rice Protein
Natural Sweetener:
Honey, Reactiv Flav A Shake, or Pure Stevia
Oats:
Reactiv Pure NZ Rapid Oats, Whole Oats or Porridge
Extras:
Dried Fruit, Nuts, Chia Seeds

Mix, press into shape, chill in the freezer or fridge, cut into bars and enjoy!
