Mike's Sneaky Weight Loss Tricks

Here's a few of the tricks I use and recommend to ramp up fat loss and get lean at warp speed...

Most importantly eat, don't starve. 5 to 6 smallish and well timed meals EVERY day will keep your metabolism racing at full velocity.

Eliminate simple sugars, this includes fruit juice, soft drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks etc (if you are unsure on anything email me).

When aiming to drop body fat I avoid fruit but on the rare occasion that I eat it I make sure it is closer to unripe. As fruit ripens GI goes up and so do its sugar spiking, fat packing effects.

A Swiss study concluded that drinking 2 to 3 cups of green tea a day could burn an extra 80 calories daily. Green Teas catechin polyphenols increase metabolic rate, and intensify fat dissolving.

Good fats from nuts, avocado, fish, olive oil, and flax seed oil can help you burn body fat faster. Replace saturated fats with these healthy fats.

L-Carnitine is found naturally in red meat - it's called a 'Fat Transporter' because of its ability to transport body fat into muscle cells to be burned. You would have to eat the whole cow to maintain ideal levels for optimum fat burning so supplement and save additional calories.

Dairy can be an unnecessary source of sugar and fat (yes even the trim and lite versions are loaded). Cut out dairy and effectively shave calories.

People who sleep 7 to 8 hours are leaner than those who only get 5 or 6 hours a night. Not enough sleep is linked to frustrating and stubborn midsection body fat accumulation. So there's an excuse to sleep in this weekend!

Carbohydrates eaten in the morning are more likely burned as energy - and later in the day carbs are more likely stored as fat. Cutting carbs from 4pm is an excellent way to reduce body fat.

Most people eat too many carbohydrates. By cutting portions of rice, potatoes, bread, pasta, and cereals you can promote effective and rapid weight loss.

Utilise the thermic effect of food. Through digestion some foods actually stimulate the metabolism into increased calorie burning. These hot foods are proteins. Dig into lean beef, lamb, chicken, fish, egg whites, and whey protein powders.

Zig zag calorie intake. Stick strictly to lower calories for 5 to 6 days out of seven, follow this with 1 to 2 days of moderate to higher calories to kick your metabolism into gear.

Dehydration can short circuit the brain and mistakenly trigger feelings of hunger. Adequate hydration will fend off these confusing hunger pangs that can drive you to the brink.

There you go, a few more tricks to add to your arsenal!
