How to use a Thermogenic Fat Burner

If you've used a thermogenic fat burner or TR2, you'll know how strong they can be, and how much energy and motivation they may help give you. For this reason, to help you support weight loss, it's recommended to only use Thermo's for a specific amount of time. 

Depending on how lean they already are, Bodybuilders and Bodyshapers will either use Thermo's for about 12 to 16 weeks leading up to a competition, or for the final few weeks of this lead up. They can be taken every day for a serious goal like this, or can alternatively be used in a cycling on and off fashion over this duration.

The reason some like to cycle on and off over the dieting period is, this may help better maintain the bodies natural energy levels. It may not make any difference to the amount of fat loss achieved though.

Cycling their use can also be worked to suit training days. If you think you'll need more of a boost on training days, then make sure those are the days you take your Thermo's. On rest days you can have a break from the Thermo's.

Here's four different cycles some people like to follow. These can be modified to work with different training plans and lifestyles:

1 week on, 1 week off, and so on for 6 to 16 weeks.
2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, and so on for 6 to 16 weeks.
5 days on, 2 days off, and so on for 6 to 16 weeks.
2 days on, 2 days off, and so on for 6 to 16 weeks.

At the end of the dieting phase, a break of about the same duration that the Thermo's were used over is taken. For example, if Thermo's were taken for 6 weeks, then after this a 6 week break would be taken before resuming them again. 

How often servings are taken each day is dependent on the goals. Some bodybuilders and bodyshapers do take a Thermo serving up to 3 x a day. This is a more serious amount. Most people will go with 1 to 2 x servings a day and find this adequate.

Some people do find Thermogenic's wake them up if they take them in the evening. If this is something you notice with your sleeping patterns, then aim to take your servings during the day, and no later than about 3pm. If you like the energy help Thermo's may give you for training, then taken about 45 minutes before training is a good way to benefit from that the most.
