Question: Hi Mike, How do I take my Pure Acetyl L–Carnitine?
Answer: Whether you are taking your Acetyl L–Carnitine to help with weight loss, or focus and concentration, it's best to take 1 to 3 serves a day. If you haven't been taking L–Carnitine previously, it may take a few days of use to build up your body levels. To maintain levels and support, stick to a routine of taking it consistently every day.
The main goal Acetyl L–Carnitine is usually used for is for fat burning. For this purpose it's a good idea to take one of these daily serves about 30 minutes before training. If you are wanting help for training focus, then that's an ideal time to take it for that too.
All forms of L–Carnitine do fight for uptake into the body with other Amino Acids, Protein Powders, and protein foods (they may reduce the benefits if you have them at the same time). If you want to get the very most results from your Acetyl L–Carnitine then do your best to take it at a time away from protein foods and supplements. This can be a bit tricky if you are working out first thing in the morning and you like to have a protein shake or BCAA's before. Let me know if you want a work around for that.
During the day, take your Acetyl L–Carnitine with a glass of water between meals, at least 1 to 2 hours either side of food. While carbohydrate foods may help the uptake of other forms of L–Carnitine, Acetyl L–Carnitine is more readily taken up by the body on its own. It doesn't need carbohydrates. This is another reason that supports its use on an empty stomach between meals. You can take it at the same time as other fat burners like Green Tea, Caffeine, and TR2, this can be beneficial.
L–Carnitine is not a stimulant, this is what makes it a great option for people who want a non caffeine fat burning supplement. Some people still do feel L–Carnitine may wake them up in the evenings though. If this is an issue for you, then try not to take it too late in the day.
Acetyl L–Carnitine can be taken regularly long term if you choose to, there's no reason to cycle on and off and take breaks.
